National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Posted on October 2, 2025
On September 30, our team came together to recognize Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This important day honors Survivors of residential schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and reminds us all, that Every Child Matters.
In the days leading up, we invited employees to learn more about the history and legacy of residential schools and reflect on its meaning through a Digital Reflection Board. Staff shared thoughtful reflections, lessons learned, personal feelings, and commitments to action.
Seeing the wide range of perspectives and heartfelt messages highlighted the empathy, curiosity, and engagement of our team — and the willingness of everyone to learn and grow together.
On Orange Shirt Day itself, our employees proudly wore orange, symbolizing support for Survivors and the importance of reconciliation. For those who didn’t have an orange shirt, our Social Committee made sure everyone could participate by distributing shirts throughout the day.
As part of our commitment to this cause, we supported Orange Shirt Day Society to help their ongoing work in education and awareness.
You can join us in supporting this cause together at Orange Shirt Society Donation.
We are inspired by the way our team embraced this initiative, not just as a single day of recognition, but as a moment to engage, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward understanding and reconciliation.
Together, we’re learning, listening, and showing that every child matters.
