Hyundai reveals its vision for ‘Future Mobility’

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES®) in Las Vegas, Hyundai showcased several elements of its strategy for ‘future mobility,’ which include new convergent technologies that link vehicles to customer’s lives using intelligent autonomous driving, smart hyper-connectivity solutions and innovations to promote wellness in mobility.

Hyper-Connected Cars

One of Hyundai’s new technologies is how the ‘hyper-connected car’ will be central to buying greater convenience, comfort and enjoyment to tomorrow’s lifestyles. In pursuing its hyper-connects intelligent vehicles, Hyundai is collaborating with tech giant Cisco, a world leader in IT and security technology. The joint Hyundai/Cisco program will create a platform that will help enable two-way communication both internally between the car’s system and externally with road infrastructure, other vehicles, internet of Things (loT) devices, and the cloud.

Mobility Vision

Hyundai showcased its ‘Mobility Vision’ concept with the aim of integrating the car into the daily lives of users, blurring the line between mobility and customer’s living and working spaces. as well as a Health + Mobility concept for wellness in mobility, its future vision for health-conscious vehicles that connect mobility and wellness.

Wearable Powered Robots

Hyundai new wearable powered robots for medical, work and daily life reveal the company’s ambition to provide assisted-mobility support beyond the automobile for the well-being of customers. The range of wearable exoskeletons feature on-board motion control systems to support patients with lower spinal cord injuries, or provide stroll support for the elderly in everyday life.

IONIQ Scooter

The IONIQ Scooter is an innovative, portable-mobility concept that allows customers to continue their journey after parking to easily reach their final destination. The electrically-powered scooter can be stored and charged in the front door of the IONIQ Electric, with an easy one-touch folding structure for maximized portability. The scooter is the result of a study into alternatives for ‘first-and-last mile mobility.’

Hyundai Collaborates with Google Assistant

Focusing on the increasing connection between cars and the home, Hyundai also demonstrated compatibility with the company’s Blue Link Agent for the Google Assistant. The integration allows control of various functions of a Hyundai vehicle with voice commands, such as: “Ok Google, Tell Blue Link to start my Santa Fe and set the temperature to 72 degrees”, and “Ok Google, ask Blue Link to lock my car”.
