The SUPERSTRUCTURE™
The Kona features an ultra-rigid vehicle chassis at its core, what we call the SUPERSTRUCTURE™. Composed of Hyundai’s Advanced High Strength Steel, which is designed to be stronger, stiffer, and lighter than conventional steel, to provide greater benefits in safety, ride comfort, and fuel economy.
In the event of a collision, the SUPERSTRUCTURE™ helps protect occupants inside the vehicle by absorbing harmful energy and redirecting it away from the passenger compartment.
Available Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system uses the front-mounted camera and the radar sensor to monitor the traffic ahead. Should it detect a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian, it will warn the drier and, if required, automatically slow or stop the vehicle.
Lane Departure Warning With Lane Keeping Assist
Drift outside your lane without signalling and this available system will alert you with audible and visual cues. If no action is taken, Lane Keeping Assist can apply corrective steering assistance to help you remain within your lane markings.
Head-Up Display

Blind-Spot Collision Warning
Using two radar sensors in the lower rear bumper, the available Blind-Spot Collision warning system visually warns you of traffic in the blind spot. Should you set the turn indicator in such a situation, the Lane Change Assist will sound an alert if the vehicle in the adjacent lane is approaching at a faster speed than you are travelling to safely pass.
